Preparing Salix lapponum (downy willow) trees for planting at nursery yesterday. This high altitude willow species is found in small numbers in the Galloway hills.
Oh, and not forgetting…
Tasks today included fence and interpretation maintenance and tree surveys, involving a fair amount of walking about and occasional stops to take in the wonderful Spring scenes at Knockman.
Oh, and not forgetting, we also celebrated a special birthday with our friend, Peter.
Peter’s specially made birthday cake looked too beautiful to cut – it’s a woodland scene, inspired by our new logo.
It tasted as good as it looks folks and Peter only just managed to save a piece for himself!
Peter commissioned Anne Brown of Castlewigg Lodge to make his cake.
