Busy day at nursery on a cold, wet and blustery day yesterday, taking downy willow cuttings and planting them in root trainers.
5300 Downy Willow (Salix lapponum) cuttings
At the CVCWT tree nursery on the RSPB Wood of Cree, Barclye reserve today taking the last of the 5300 Downy Willow (Salix lapponum) cuttings.
A great effort by mostly the volunteers.
Lots of wildlife now moving back to their upland breeding sites on the reserve and some wintering species still around.
Birds around the nursery included Skylark, Linnet (photo by Gavin Chambers), Starling, Meadow Pipit, Reed Bunting, Pied Wagtail and Fieldfare.
2 Hares also seen.
