Archaeological Events – May 2013
Come and join us to discover the heritage that lies within Knockman Wood. Events will be led by our Project Archaeologist.
Archaeological works will include revealing building features, plane tabling, measuring and recording.
All tools and equipment will be supplied by CVCWT. Bring a packed lunch (if staying all day). Wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear.
The timetable below shows the planned days for work on the site situated in Knockman Wood approx. 1 mile north of Newton Stewart on the Wood of Cree road, car park at NX 409674.
On the days when school, college or community groups are on site, other volunteers will still be welcome but numbers may have to be limited.
Please check with CVCWT if you are planning on coming along. Volunteers are welcome for whole or part days as they wish.
