Attended an extremely interesting course today on Pine Marten ecology and conservation run by Johnny Birks and John Martin.
Pied Wagtail nest with eggs – 19th June
Pied Wagtail nest with eggs found amongst tree saplings on bench in polytunnel today.
As the polytunnel has an automatic watering system, this nest must get watered for 10 minutes every day! Presumebly the bird sits tight.
The heat in the polytunnel today was extreme and the eggs would probably not need incubating in these conditions.
Maybe a good tactic by the wagtail?
